Cleaning of Blinds

Windovert has spent a lot of time and effort researching the correct way to clean blinds and shutters. We have formulated a very special liquid detergent, contaning mild alkalis, penetrants, emulsifiers and grease cutting agents for efficient and effective dirt, oil and grease removal, on all our products.

Wood Venetian Blinds

As with any wood product, excess moisture can warp or discolour the wood, even though the wood is sealed. Use a clean soft dust cloth, feather duster, or vacuum brush to wipe off dust. Wood preservatives are often permitted to maintain wood's natural lustre.

To dust, tilt slats up, dust, then tilt slats down (but not so the blinds are full closed). Clean with a cloth or vacuum brush. Clean from side to side, following the direction of the slats. Do not wash!

Tecwood Venetian Blinds

Part of the beauty of Faux Wood Blinds is its ease of cleaning. Use a clean soft dust cloth, feather duster, or vacuum cleaner brush to wipe off dust.

Spot clean using a mild detergent with warm water on a slightly damp cloth, then blot dry.

Aluminium Venetian Blinds

Aluminium blinds are smooth and therefore quite easy to clean. Use soft clean dust cloths, a vacuum cleaner brush, feather duster or other common, gentle cleaning aid for dusting.

To wash your blinds, use a mild detergent, on a sponge or damp cloth dipped in warm water. In most cases, you may remove your blind and place them in a bathtub filled with mild soapy water. Rinse then wipe dry, or leave open to air dry.

Woven Wood / Bamboo Blinds

As with any wood product, excess moisture can warp or discolour the wood, even though the wood is sealed. Use a clean soft dust cloth, feather duster, or vacuum brush to wipe off dust. Do not wash!

Vertical Blinds

Dust regularly with a vacuum cleaner brush or a clean soft cloth. Spot clean stains using a mild detergent in warm water, then blot dry. Do not clean or immerse fabric in water.

Roller Blinds

Dust regularly with a vacuum cleaner brush or a clean soft cloth. Spot clean stains using a mild detergent in warm water, then blot dry. Do not clean or immerse fabric in water.
